Aided by its extensive know-how, Sal. Oppenheim has been operating on the Italian market since 2003. Thanks to its ability to identify market trends, it contributed to the development of the derivatives market, issuing the first PROTECT Bonus Certificates as early as 2005.
With a special focus on private clients in Italy, Sal. Oppenheim offers certificates that have been developed together with the main players of the financial industry in order to meet the operators’ increasingly sophisticated needs. Products such as Easy Express, Express Double Chance, Bonus, Cash Collect, TWIN WIN and Butterfly became soon established as market standards, since they are instruments whose profile and use can be adapted to any kind of portfolio, helping to reduce individual risk as well as serving as a complement for other asset classes.
Sal. Oppenheim’s activity on the Italian market has also been recognised during the second edition of the Italian Certificate Awards, during which the bank was awarded four times: the MULTI Bonus was "Certificate of the Year 2008", the Butterfly won the first place in the "Best Certificate and Issuer for Capital Protection Certificates" category and placed second in the "Best Certificate and Issuer for Strategy Certificates" category. In addition, Sal. Oppenheim came in third as "Issuer of the Year 2008". These four awards emphasize Sal. Oppenheim’s effort to continue on the right track of keeping it simple and transparent.
Transparency is the guiding principle to make certificates accessible for the general public. Sal. Oppenheim relies on education and information in order to spread knowledge about certificates by providing a complete service to investors: brochures, information material and FAQs at every issue. It was this dedication to transparency that inspired Sal. Oppenheim to be among the founding members of ACEPI (Italian Association for Certificates and Investment Products). This was already the case in Germany and Austria, where the bank is a founding member of the respective forums, as well as in Switzerland, where it is a member of the local association.
