New record for Idem, Borsa Italiana derivatives market

New record for a single day's trading

IDEM, Borsa Italiana derivatives market,  reached today 15 April 2009  a new record for a single day's trading , with 563,041 contracts traded during the day.  The previous record was 451,655 contracts, reached on  8 May 2007.

More in details, stock futures registered their historical record with 396,250 standard contracts. The previous record was 335,740 contracts on 8 June 2006.

Raffaele Jerusalmi - Director of Derivatives and  Fixed  Income  Markets, London Stock Exchange Group ,  said: “These numbers confirm  the effectiveness of  our  new pricing scheme  which   was introduced on 2 March 2009  in order to create new efficiencies for intermediaries improving IDEM development at international level."
