European bourses, Milan adrift

News Image (Teleborsa) - Piazza Affari and the major bourses of the Old Continent sustain heavy losses as Europe's bearish currents take hold. At the same time, the US market trades sharply lower.

EUR / USD is firmly up as it reaches 1.109. A day to forget for gold, which retraces -1.53% to trade at 3,086.1 dollars per ounce. Light Sweet Crude Oil is firmly in the red as it tumbles -7.13% to trade at 66.6 dollars per barrel.

The Spread flatlines, remaining at +106 basis points, while the Italian ten-year BTP is at +3.7%.

Among the European markets, Frankfurt dives -2.42%, London shows a negative session -1.4% down, and Paris collapses (-3.07%).

Investors rush to sell in Milan as the stock exchange takes a plunge of -2.94%; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share is firmly in the red as it retreats -2.84% to trade at 39,517 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap is downbeat (-1.78%); similarly, the FTSE Italia Star declines sharply (-1.82%).

Among Italy's best performing large-caps, A2A is firmly in the black, progressing +3.19%.

Leonardo performs well, growing +3.09%.

Terna secures a tidy +2.94% gain.

Snam rises +2.85% on positive cues.

Tenaris reports the heaviest losses, currently suffering from a -8.88% down.

Saipem reels under sharp sell-offs as it declines -7.21%.

An ugly performance for Unicredit, which registers a -5.96% loss.

A black day for Banca Popolare Sondrio, which sheds -5.87%.

ERG (+4.14%), Garofalo Health Care (+3.56%), Acea (+2.70%) and Iren (+2.45%) top the ranks of Milan's mid-caps.

El.En sees the heaviest sell-offs, now trading -7.55% lower.

Ariston Holding is in free fall, diving -6.12%.

D'Amico drops like a stone, recording a -6.06 percent decline.

A dramatic session for Ferragamo, which suffers a -5.77% collapse.
