Borsa Italiana soars ahead of the Euro-markets

News Image (Teleborsa) - Piazza Affari is sharply higher amid fresh buying, outperforming the other European bourses, which have a fairly positive session. At the same time, US stocks are deeply in the red.

EUR / USD is essentially stable, finishing at 1.042. Gold trades fractionally lower in this session, shedding -0.52% so far. Light Sweet Crude Oil rises +1.05% to 70.35 dollars per barrel.

The Spread touches +119 basis points, a 3 BPs increase over its previous level, with the Italy BTP 10Y yield at +3.52%.

Among the European indices, Frankfurt performs modestly, showing a moderate +0.68% rise, London essentially treads water (+0.16%), and Paris is firmly in the black, progressing +1%.

The Milan bourse closes up as the FTSE MIB gains +1.25%, bouncing back after three consecutive downs since on December 19, Thursday; similarly, a bullish session sees the FTSE Italia All-Share rise well above previous levels to 36,366 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap is up +1.05%; similarly, the FTSE Italia Star climbs +0.77%.

Stmicroelectronics (+2.22%), Stellantis (+2.06%), Moncler (+2.06%) and ENI (+1.98%) among the top performers in Milan.

Amplifon reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -2.71% down.

Buzzi is modestly down, shedding -0.83%.

Banco di Desio e della Brianza (+4.04%), BFF Bank (+3.24%), Piaggio (+3.14%) and De'Longhi (+2.97%) top the ranks of Milan's mid-caps.

Garofalo Health Care sees the heaviest sell-offs, finishing trade -1.79% lower.

Caltagirone plunges -1.54%.

Comer Industries drifts -0.94% lower.

Ariston Holding totters along with a modest -0.75% decline.
