Presidents of the Milan Stock Exchange Syndicate (1866-1932)
After the Unification of Italy and the enactment of the Code of Commercial Laws of 1865, a decree of 30/05/1866 formally instituted the Syndicate of Public Intermediaries (Sindacato dei mediatori pubblici) , composed of nine members. Its name had been changed a number of times in previous years: Stock Exchange Syndicate (Sindacato di Borsa), Stockbrokers' Syndicate (Sindacato degli agenti di cambio) and Syndicate of the Merchandise Brokers (Sindacato dei sensali di merci). The unified law of 1913 provided a detailed description of its responsibilities.
