STAR Conference 2017: STAR and AIM Italia companies together in London

- For the first time the conference also hosts a selected group of companies listed on AIM Italia
- 1000 one to one meetings and 14 plenary presentations
Today the STAR Conference opens in London, with 53 companies of the STAR segment of Borsa Italiana.
The Conference represents an opportunity for listed companies and investors to meet, with a total of 1000 one-to-one meetings with 150 investors representing 111 investment houses (89 per cent foreign and 11 per cent Italian).
For the first time a selection of companies listed on AIM Italia was also invited to the event. These companies will have the opportunity to publicly present themselves to investors to create synergies and allow these excellent SMEs to align themselves with the best practices in terms of investor relations, sharing them with the STAR companies.
The STAR segment
The STAR segment today includes 72 listed companies with a total market capitalization of €43,3 billion as of 29.09.2017. (+35 per cent compared to the segment’s capitalization in 2016), an average capitalization per company of €609.4 million..

International investor capital plays a significant role in STAR companies’ capital, with 90 per cent of institutional capital originating from foreign investors in terms of detained Market Value[1 (North America: 33 per cent; Continental Europe: 23 per cent; UK: 21 per cent; Northern Europe: 10%, rest of World: 3 per cent).
FTSE Italia STAR has registered an increase in performance, with +38,2 per cent from the start of 2017 (data updated to 29/09/2017) and a constant outperformance (+355 per cent from the beginning of 2003 to end of September 2017).
The AIM Italia market
The AIM Italia market today includes 88 listed companies, with a total capitalization of €4.9 billion. There have been 18 new admissions with a total capitalization of about €760 million. FTSE AIM Italia, the reference index, has registered +23.5 percent since the start of 2017 (data updated to 29/09/2017).
