“STAR” CELEBRATES IN LONDON ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY
- Companies belonging to Borsa Italiana’s STAR segment meet international investors at the “STAR Conference London 2011”

On Monday 3, Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 October, in the prestigious headquarter of London Stock Exchange, 34 companies belonging to the STAR segment will meet the international financial community and will present their results and strategies.

In total over 250 one-to-one meetings have been booked for the three day event with more than 50 institutional investors representing 40 investment houses.

The STAR segment celebrates this year it’s 10th anniversary: it was launched in April 2001 with 20 companies and today is made up of 73 listed companies from across all sectors with a market cap of more than 12 billion euro.

To celebrate this important goal on Tuesday 4 the opening of the London markets will be dedicated to the STAR companies. The market open ceremony will be conducted by His Excellency Alain Giorgio Maria Economides and hosted by Mr Massimo Tononi, Chairman of Borsa Italiana.

Luca Peyrano, Head of Continental Europe, Primary Markets- Borsa Italiana  said:

“We are very proud to celebrate this anniversary. In these 10 important years, even though the markets situation has been sometimes difficult, the companies belonging to the segment have shown, in the course of time, to  grow, to strength and to keep the implicit agreement signed with investors, that even today represents the real key of success of STAR: always keeping a virtual and transparent relationship with the market, constantly adopting corporate behaviours  in line with the best international practices.
