On Tuesday 15th of June, with the dinner in the Italian Embassy, the fifth London edition of the Italian Investor Conference started. The conference is taking place in the headquarters of the London Stock Exchange.
The Italian Investor conference represents the traditional meeting organized by Borsa Italiana to bring the most important Italian listed companies to meet with North-European investors.
On June 17th the roadshow will continue in Stockholm for the first Swedish Italian Investor Conference, dedicated to investors belonging to the entire Scandinavian area.
The meetings in the two financial centers are organized in collaboration with JP Morgan, Mediobanca, UBS and Unicredit.
The Italian Investor Conferences testify the big effort of the entire system to promote among foreign institutional investors the most representative Italian listed companies.
Organized in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and thanks to the fundamental support of primary national and international brokers, these conferences help the Italian listed companies to achieve objectives such as transparency, frequency in meeting the investors and liquidity of their financial instruments.
In particular the 2010 programme has been enriched of new destinations, which have been chosen on the basis of the following factors: the weight that the countries have in the portfolio of global investments; the willingness of foreign investors to invest in Italian companies, and geographical distribution of companies’ shareholding. As a matter of fact London and Stockholm follow the last April meetings of New York and Toronto.
The roadshow will move to Tokyo in October for the traditional autumn meeting with Japanese market.
The companies that are taking part in the London and Stockholm roadshow are:
Banca MPS, Benetton, ENI, Finmeccanica, Gruppo Editoriale l’Espresso, Impregilo, Indesit, Intesa Sanpaolo, Italcementi, Recordati, Lottomatica, Mediolanum, Seat Pagine Gialle, Snam Rete Gas, ST Microelectronics, Terna, Telecom Italia and Unipol.
Totally, around 130 one-to-one meetings have been organized between companies’ management and more than 75 local investors representing 50 primary houses of investment.
