Milan slides but Europe plummets

News Image (Teleborsa) - Piazza Affari weakens, while the other European markets are firmly down. Meanwhile, Wall Street slides further as the S&P-500 takes a -1.72% tumble.

There is no significant change for EUR / USD which, at 1.085, is traded around previous levels. Gold trades slightly up at 2,424.6 dollars per ounce. Light Sweet Crude Oil shows a timid gain of +0.49%.

The Spread touches +138 basis points, a 4 BPs increase over its previous level, with the Italy BTP 10Y yield at +3.8%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent, Frankfurt plunges -0.92% on intense selling, London trades largely sideways, and investors are selling as Paris records a -1.12% fall.

In Milan, the FTSE MIB trades below the flatline, finishing -0.48% down at 34,472 points; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share finishes below the flatline, at 36,694 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap spirals down (-0.84%); on the same trend direction, the FTSE Italia Star finishes just below the flatline (-0.65%).

Bper (+1.47%), Italgas (+1.11%), MPS Bank (+0.98%) and Amplifon (+0.91%) among the best performing blue chips in Piazza Affari.

Iveco has the worst performance, closing -14.53% down.

Saipem is in free fall, diving -4.92%.

Leonardo drops like a stone, recording a -4.03 percent decline.

A dramatic session for Moncler, which suffers a -3.95% collapse.

Alerion Clean Power (+3.70%), Iren (+1.69%), Caltagirone (+1.43%) and Pharmanutra (+1.27%) are among the big players in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index.

Ferragamo reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -2.98% down.

Technogym shows a negative session -2.85% down.

Troubled SOL falls -2.67%.

CIR is down, with a net loss of 2.39%.
