Milan flat, Europe down

News Image (Teleborsa) - On the Old Continent, the major bourses close lower , while Piazza Affari finishes around the flatline. On the US market, the S&P-500 posts substantial gains.

EUR / USD trades slightly up at 1.043. Gold trades up, advancing to 2,624.5 dollars per ounce. Light Sweet Crude Oil shows a timid gain of -0.05%.

The Spread retraces its steps, dipping -1.72% to +114 basis points, while the Italy 10-year BTP yield is at +3.44%.

Among the major European bourses, Frankfurt drifts -0.43% lower, London totters along with a modest -0.26% decline, and a sluggish day for Paris, which drops -0.27%.

In Milan, the FTSE MIB is essentially stable, closing at 33,766 points; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share ends the session on a dull note, at 35,956 points, near the previous day's levels.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap posts marginal gains (+0.69%), as the FTSE Italia Star is moderately up (+0.26%).

Amplifon (+1.64%), Brunello Cucinelli (+1.45%), Italgas (+1.32%) and ERG (+1.29%) top the ranks of Milan's large-caps.

Saipem sees the heaviest sell-offs, finishing trade -6.09% lower.

Telecom Italia is down, with a net loss of 3.67%.

Nexi is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 2.16%.

Banca Popolare Sondrio trades with a small loss of -1.46%.

Comer Industries (+15.51%), Rai Way (+3.68%), Maire (+2.52%) and Caltagirone (+2.52%) are among Italy's top mid-cap stocks.

El.En has the worst performance, closing -2.94% down.

Cementir trades negative, losing -2.36%.

Moltiply Group plunges -2.21%.

OVS declines by a notable -2%.
