European markets slump amid sell-off. Milan resists downtrend

EUR / USD climbs a tad to 1.093. Gold is trading at previous levels, with a variation of -0.18%. Light Sweet Crude Oil gains +2.47% amid a flurry of buy orders.
The Spread remains unchanged at +129 basis points, while the Italy ten-year BTP is at +3.69%.
Among the major European bourses, Frankfurt is sluggish, declining marginally (-0.44%), London records a fairly pedestrian increase of +0.28%, and lacklustre Paris registers almost no change against the previous trading session.
The Borsa Italiana closes flat, with the FTSE MIB settling at 34,380 points; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share (Milan) hovers around previous levels, closing at 36,636 points.
The FTSE Italia Mid Cap finishes just below the flatline (-0.47%); the FTSE Italia Star posts marginal gains (+0.22%).
Among Italy's best performing large-caps, A2A performs well, growing +3.2%.
Recordati is only just in the black as it climbs a scant +1.27%.
Stellantis lacks momentum in this session, reflected in a moderate gain of 0.90%.
ENI makes fairly pedestrian progress (+0.87%).
Leonardo has the worst performance, closing -2.31% down.
Iveco is down, with a net loss of 1.96%.
Brunello Cucinelli is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 1.74%.
Prysmian trades negative, losing -1.69%.
Fincantieri (+6.54%), Ariston Holding (+4.71%), Comer Industries (+3.22%) and Carel Industries (+3.00%) top the ranks of Milan's mid-caps.
Technoprobe reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -5.11% down.
D'Amico plunges -2.48%.
Digital Value declines by a notable -2.22%.
De'Longhi is struggling, -2.02% down.
