European markets on standby

News Image (Teleborsa) - The major European bourses are trading on a cautious note. Uncertainty and wariness also pervade Milan, where stocks cling close to the flatline. Meanwhile in the US market the S&P-500 fluctuates around the flatline.

EUR / USD is essentially stable at previous levels, finishing at 1.053. Gold makes timid gains, progressing by +0.61%. Light Sweet Crude Oil enjoys a positive session, gaining +1.73%.

The Spread climbs again, settling at +126 basis points, up 3 BPs, with the Italy BTP 10Y yield at +3.56%.

Among the European indices, Frankfurt is modestly up (+0.32%), London records a fairly pedestrian increase of +0.46%, and lacklustre Paris registers almost no change against the previous trading session.

Milan's Piazza Affari is essentially stable, with the FTSE MIB trading sideways at 33,194 points; similarly, no shame no gain for the FTSE Italia All-Share as it trades flat at 35,330 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap hovers just below the flatline (-0.52%), as the FTSE Italia Star is below the flatline, slipping -0.57%.

Leonardo (+1.75%), Unipol (+0.96%), A2A (+0.92%) and Saipem (+0.90%) top the ranks of Milan's large-caps.

Nexi has the worst performance, with a -3.76% down.

Telecom Italia is down, with a net loss of 2.35%.

Moncler is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 2.33%.

Banca Popolare Sondrio trades negative, losing -1.56%.

MFE A (+4.06%), MFE B (+2.67%), Acea (+1.64%) and Lottomatica (+1.51%) are among the best performing stocks in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap basket.

OVS reports the heaviest losses, currently suffering from a -7.56% down.

An ugly performance for Ariston Holding, which registers a -5.34% loss.

Ferragamo plunges -3.49%.

Technogym declines by a notable -3.46%.
