European equity closes in the red. Milan also down

News Image (Teleborsa) - A gloomy day for Piazza Affari and Europe's other major bourses. Wall Street stocks are also lower.

EUR / USD creeps higher, showing a +0.24% rise. Gold is essentially stable at 2,561.6 dollars per ounce. Light Sweet Crude Oil loses a lot of ground, retracing by -1.55% to trade at 67.64 dollars per barrel.

The Spread is broadly on the previous day's level as it settles at +122 basis points, while the Italy ten-year BTP is at +3.54%.

Among the European indices, Frankfurt is modestly down, shedding -0.27%, London trades largely sideways, and Paris drifts -0.58% lower.

Piazza Affari closes on a cautious note, with the FTSE MIB registering a slight loss of -0.48%; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share finishes below the flatline, at 36,326 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap eases -0.6%; similarly, the FTSE Italia Star spirals down (-0.96%).

Generali (+4.84%), Mediobanca (+2.46%), DiaSorin (+2.05%) and Iveco (+1.29%) among the top performers in Milan.

Stmicroelectronics sees the heaviest sell-offs, finishing trade -3.88% lower.

Prysmian shows a negative session -3.3% down.

Troubled Campari falls -2.74%.

Interpump Group is down, with a net loss of 2.50%.

Alerion Clean Power (+5.07%), Digital Value (+4.30%), Fincantieri (+2.25%) and Ferretti (+2.18%) are among the best performing stocks in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap basket.

Marr has the worst performance, closing -9.38% down.

Technoprobe suffers a -4.92% decline.

Webuild plunges -3.9%.

Tinexta is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 2.93%.
