European equity closes in the red. Milan also down

News Image (Teleborsa) - A gloomy day for Piazza Affari and Europe's other major bourses. On Wall Street, the S&P-500 edges lower.

EUR / USD is essentially stable at previous levels, finishing at 1.088. Gold is trading at previous levels, with a variation of -0.03%. Light Sweet Crude Oil gains +2.59% amid a flurry of buy orders.

The Spread remains unchanged at +125 basis points, while the Italy ten-year BTP is at +3.65%.

Among the European markets, Frankfurt is definitely weaker with a -0.56% decrease, London is basically unchanged, reporting a scant +0.09% variation, and Paris slips just under the flatline with a -0.5% decrease.

The Milanese stock market ends the session just below the flatline as the FTSE MIB sheds -0.39%; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share comes under sell-off pressure as it closes at 36,613 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap ends negative (-0.85%); on the same trend direction, the FTSE Italia Star spirals down (-1.39%).

Among Italy's best performing large-caps, Bper records a fairly pedestrian increase of +1.33%.

DiaSorin is only just in the black as it climbs a scant +0.89%.

Intesa Sanpaolo lacks momentum in this session, reflected in a moderate gain of 0.87%.

Banco Bpm makes fairly pedestrian progress (+0.76%).

Iveco has the worst performance, closing -3.20% down.

Stmicroelectronics is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 3.06%.

Amplifon trades negative, losing -2.74%.

Leonardo plunges -2.47%.

Banco di Desio e della Brianza (+7.41%), Philogen (+2.30%), Ariston Holding (+1.76%) and Credem (+1.52%) top the ranks of Milan's mid-caps.

Moltiply Group reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -2.75% down.

D'Amico declines by a notable -2.71%.

Buzzi is struggling, -2.5% down.

Danieli & C suffers losses of 2.41%.
