European equity closes in the red. Milan also down

News Image (Teleborsa) - A gloomy day for Piazza Affari and Europe's other major bourses. Meanwhile, the New York trading floor is in positive territory with the S&P-500 marking an increase of 0.80%.

EUR / USD holds its position at 1.097. Gold is in reverse gear, sliding to 2,612.9 dollars per ounce. Light Sweet Crude Oil plunges to 73.6 dollars per barrel amid heavy sell-offs, losing -4.59%.

The Spread is broadly on the previous day's level as it settles at +131 basis points, while the Italy ten-year BTP is at +3.56%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent, Frankfurt is essentially flat, offering a scant -0.2%, troubled London falls -1.36%, and Paris is down, with a net loss of 0.72%.

The Milanese stock market has a weak session, with the FTSE MIB closing -0.24% down; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share comes under sell-off pressure as it closes at 35,872 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap holds previous levels (-0.12%); the FTSE Italia Star posts marginal gains (+0.26%).

Italgas (+3.31%), MPS Bank (+2.40%), DiaSorin (+1.81%) and Amplifon (+1.79%) among the top performers in Milan.

Saipem reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -2.48% down.

ENI is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 2.14%.

Tenaris trades negative, losing -2.04%.

Stellantis plunges -1.85%.

Moltiply Group (+2.66%), Anima Holding (+2.06%), Alerion Clean Power (+1.39%) and Credem (+1.38%) top the ranks of Milan's mid-caps.

Ariston Holding has the worst performance, closing -3.40% down.

Sesa declines by a notable -2.13%.

Ferragamo is struggling, -1.98% down.

Technoprobe suffers losses of 1.83%.
