European bourses negative. Milan holds steady

News Image (Teleborsa) - The major European markets dip into negative terrain, while Piazza Affari manages to avoid a selling spree, ending the session near the flatline. Wall Street edges up, with the S&P-500 recording a +0.28% rise.

EUR / USD broadly maintains the previous session's levels, with a change of only +0.08%. Gold is essentially stable at previous levels, finishing at 2,329.9 dollars per ounce. Caution prevails in the oil market, with Light Sweet Crude Oil registering a slight decline of -0.21%.

The Spread flatlines, remaining at +157 basis points, while the Italian ten-year BTP is at +4.06%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent, it's a stalemate for Frankfurt, which is trading around the flatline, lacklustre London registers almost no change against the previous trading session, and Paris slips just under the flatline with a -0.68% decrease.

In Milan, Piazza Affari closes at previous levels, reporting a -0.1% change; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share trades flat, closing at 35,340 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap holds the line (-0.17%); on the same line, the FTSE Italia Star holds previous levels (-0.14%).

Tenaris (+2.35%), Stmicroelectronics (+1.57%), Unipol (+1.37%) and Saipem (+1.23%) top the ranks of Milan's large-caps.

Brunello Cucinelli reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -3.66% down.

Troubled Terna falls -1.66%.

Bper is down, with a net loss of 1.65%.

Campari is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 1.52%.

Maire (+4.03%), Mondadori (+2.74%), Italmobiliare (+2.33%) and El.En (+1.94%) are among the big players in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap index.

OVS sees the heaviest sell-offs, finishing trade -5.62% lower.

Zignago Vetro trades negative, losing -2.16%.

Ariston Holding plunges -1.73%.

Alerion Clean Power declines by a notable -1.68%.
