Euroland bourses contract, Piazza Affari weakest

News Image (Teleborsa) - The Milan stock exchange is markedly down, while the major European exchanges see only moderate losses. On Wall Street the S&P-500 is basically stagnant, posting a paltry +0.1% change.

EUR / USD is essentially stable at previous levels, finishing at 1.058. Gold creeps up +0.59%. Oil prices see no significant change, with the Light Sweet Crude Oil settling at 69.06 dollars per barrel, near the previous session's level.

The Spread is at +116 basis points, near the previous day's level, while the ten-year BTP settles at +3.54%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent, tottering Frankfurt dips -0.67%, London trades firm at -0.13%, and Paris is definitely weaker with a -0.67% decrease.

In Piazza Affari, the FTSE MIB drops -1.28% to settle at a closing price of 33,325 points: the Milan Stock Exchange main index thereby cements its negative run, with three consecutive declines recorded since last Friday; similarly, it's a gloomy day for the FTSE Italia All-Share, which ends the session at 35,462 points, down -1.23%.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap ends negative (-0.77%); similarly, the FTSE Italia Star finishes just below the flatline (-0.67%).

Leonardo is Milan's only blue chip to perform significantly well, achieving +1.37%.

Telecom Italia reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -4.14% down.

Banca Popolare Sondrio is in free fall, diving -3.85%.

Finecobank trades negative, losing -3.63%.

Banca Mediolanum plunges -3.16%.

Cembre (+2.18%), Juventus (+2.16%), Digital Value (+1.91%) and SOL (+1.71%) are among the best performing stocks in the FTSE Italia Mid Cap basket.

Carel Industries reports the heaviest losses, ending the session -6.62% down.

Ferragamo drops like a stone, recording a -4.78 percent decline.

Credem declines by a notable -3.4%.

Banco di Desio e della Brianza is struggling, -2.73% down.
