Dramatic losses in Milan
(Teleborsa) - A dramatic session at the Borsa Italiana, which closes with heavy losses. The other European bourses are sharply down. On the US market, the S&P-500 trades lower.
Caution prevails as EUR / USD continues the session slightly lower (-0.55%). Gold is in reverse gear, sliding to 2,600.3 dollars per ounce. Light Sweet Crude Oil trades with a fractional gain of 0.55%.
The Spread is firmly up, adding 13 basis points to trade at +128 BPs, while the Italian 10-year BTP yield is at +3.62%.
Among the European markets, Frankfurt nosedives by -2.13%, London plunges -1.22% on intense selling, and investors flee as Paris is down by a massive -2.69%.
A session to forget for the Italian bourse, with the FTSE MIB yielding -2.15%; similarly, investors sell furiously as the FTSE Italia All-Share tumbles -2.12%, closing at 35,738 points.
The FTSE Italia Mid Cap closes downbeat (-1.83%); on the same line, the FTSE Italia Star declines sharply (-2.06%).
Stmicroelectronics is Milan's only blue chip to perform significantly well, achieving +1.09%.
Mediobanca has the worst performance, closing -8.15% down.
Prysmian dives -5.48%.
Brunello Cucinelli collapses (-4.78%).
Amplifon reels under sharp sell-offs as it declines -4.24%.
