Borsa Italiana leads Europe-wide rally

News Image (Teleborsa) - Piazza Affari makes breathtaking gains, but the other European markets also perform well. On the New York Stock Exchange, the S&P-500 hovers around the flatline.

EUR / USD climbs a tad to 1.1. Gold is up +1.47% at 2,492.7 dollars per ounce. A day to forget for Light Sweet Crude Oil as it retraces -1.8% to trade at 76.75 dollars per barrel.

The Spread sees substantial appreciation, rising by 8 basis points to settle at +140 BPs, while the Italy 10Y BTP yield is at +3.63%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent, Frankfurt's +0.77% surge cheers investors, London is modestly down, shedding -0.43%, and Paris lacks momentum in this session, reflected in a moderate gain of 0.35%.

A day of solid gains in Piazza Affari, with the FTSE MIB rising +2.2%, continuing its bullish run of five consecutive gains since last Friday; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share has the wind in its sails as it closes up at 35,181 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap closes positive (+1.11%); on the same line, the FTSE Italia Star is buoyed by fresh buying, up +1.2%.

Mediobanca (+4.30%), Unicredit (+3.68%), Unipol (+3.66%) and Bper (+3.45%) among the top performers in Milan.

Credem (+3.23%), Anima Holding (+3.09%), Carel Industries (+3.01%) and Ariston Holding (+2.80%) top the ranks of Milan's mid-caps.

SOL sees the heaviest sell-offs, finishing trade -2.00% lower.

Technogym is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 1.72%.

Cembre trades negative, losing -1.62%.

Moltiply Group drifts -1.42% lower.
