A grim day for European equity. Milan in the red

EUR / USD broadly maintains the previous session's levels, with a change of only -0.11%. Gold holds its position at 2,362.8 dollars per ounce. A gloomy day for Light Sweet Crude Oil, which is trading at 81.55 dollars per barrel, down -0.95%.
The Spread climbs again, settling at +139 basis points, up 3 BPs, with the Italy BTP 10Y yield at +3.95%.
Among the European markets, Frankfurt is firmly in the red, showing a fall of 1.28%, London is sluggish, declining marginally (-0.66%), and investors flee as Paris is down by a massive -1.56%.
Piazza Affari closes on a cautious note, with the FTSE MIB registering a slight loss of -0.53%; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share comes under sell-off pressure as it closes at 36,089 points.
The FTSE Italia Mid Cap slips a fraction (-0.43%); on the same trend direction, the FTSE Italia Star finishes just below the flatline (-0.64%).
Prysmian (+3.95%), Iveco (+1.15%), Leonardo (+0.99%) and DiaSorin (+0.82%) top the ranks of Milan's large-caps.
Stmicroelectronics has the worst performance, closing -2.25% down.
Campari trades negative, losing -1.81%.
Generali plunges -1.8%.
Saipem declines by a notable -1.59%.
Carel Industries (+3.49%), SOL (+2.05%), Acea (+1.18%) and Ascopiave (+1.06%) are among Italy's top mid-cap stocks.
Fincantieri has the worst performance, closing -4.53% down.
Zignago Vetro dives -3.99%.
Industrie De Nora is struggling, -3.73% down.
Piovan suffers losses of 2.85%.
