Confident in FY (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 18 Jun - The UK hospitality group Whitbread said that in the 13 weeks to May 30, corresponding to its first quarter, total sales grew 1% year on year to 739 million pounds, driven by improved UK trading and continued progress in Germany.

The company said that it is "confident" in its full year outlook, "underpinned by our strong commercial programme and good progress on cost efficiencies," it added.
