Stock up 2.21% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milan , 22 Aug - Shares of the Italian construction company Webuild were higher in Milan trade, boosted by the news of a new contract in the US for its subsidiary Lane.

At 0903 GMT, Webuild shares were up 2.21% to 2.41 euros, outperforming the benchmark FTSE MIB index, which was 0.24% higher at 33,393.22 points.

A consortium including Lane, Webuild's US subsidiary, was awarded a new contract worth 466 million dollars (or about 427 million euros) to construct two twin tunnels on the Hudson River in New Jersey. Lane has a 35% share of the contract, or about 150 million euros.

According to analysts at Banca Akros, the new contract is "good news" for Webuild, allowing it to reinforce its order book in the US.
