Says Germany losing more and more ground in competitivity (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 02 Sep - Volkswagen needs to restructure and cannot rule out plant closures in Germany, AFP reported, citing an internal document sent to it by the German carmaker.

The document said Volkswagen was confronted with an "extremely difficult situation".

It said Germany was losing more and more ground in terms of competitivity.

Volkswagen is seeking to save several billions of euros by cutting costs at its namesake brand.
