Verizon Q2 revenue 32.8 bln usd, up 0.6%

Q2 revenue misses expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 22 Jul - Verizon Communications said its total operating revenue in the second quarter rose 0.6% from the same period last year to 32.8 billion dollars, boosted by a 3.5% rise in wireless service revenue.

Analysts had forecast total revenue of 33.07 billion dollars. Adjusted earnings per share in the three months were 1.15 dollars, compared with 1.21 a year earlier. That was in line with analysts' forecasts.

Verizon, which is focusing on its fixed wireless business, said it had added 148,000 net monthly bill-paying wireless phone subscribers, topping analyst estimates of 127,870 additions.

The company confirmed its annual guidance for wireless service revenue growth of 2.0-3.5% and adjusted earnings per share of 4.50-4.70 dollars.
