US shares off session highs as indices look to extend rebound

DJIA up 58.51 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 07 Aug - US shares were off session highs but still in positive territory as indices looked to continue to rebound from a three-day rout which wiped out most of 2024's market gains and caused the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 to log their worst sessions since September 2022. Stocks tanked on Monday, amid concerns over the health of the US economy after Friday's July jobs report highlighted the labor market's weariness.

At 1732 GMT, the Dow Jones was up 58.51 points, or 0.14%, at 39,054.17 points.

The S&P 500 was 16.70 points, or 0.32%, higher at 5,256.73 points.

The Nasdaq was gaining 31.25 points, or 0.18%, at 16,395.78 points.
