Unilever reportedly to cut a third of office jobs in Europe

Part of productivity programme announced in March (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 12 Jul - Unilever plans to cut a third of all office roles in Europe by the end of next year, the FT reported, citing a company-wide call.

The move comes as the group's new chief executive presses ahead with plans to boost growth at the consumer goods giant.

The company told senior executives on Wednesday that as many as 3,200 roles would be cut in Europe by the end of 2025, according to details of the call shared with the Financial Times.

The job cuts are part of Unilever's 'productivity programme' first announced in March that include cutting up to 7,500 roles globally.

'The expected net impact in roles in Europe between now and the end of 2025 is in the range of 3,000 to 3,200 roles,' said Constantina Tribou, a chief human resources officer, during the video call, as reported by the FT.
