Probing if could limit competition (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 16 Jul - British regulators have opened a preliminary investigation into Microsoft's hiring of certain former employees of Inflection AI on concerns it could limit competition in the artificial intelligence market.

In a statement the Competition and Markets Authority said it was looking at whether "the creation of that situation has resulted, or may be expected to result, in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services." The watchdog said its review of the hirings from Inflection AI had turned up 'sufficient information' to open an investigation.
