(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 21 Aug - Shares in London closed higher, boosted by miners.

Rio Tinto rose 1.22% at 4,835.50 pence while Glencore added 0.76% at 413.30 pence.

Among individual stocks, UK construction and engineering company Costain jumped 6.77% at 101.00 pence after reporting strong first half results and announcing plans for a 10 million pound share buyback.

London FTSE 100 closes up 0.12% at 8,283.43 points.
