UK shares end higher after ECB policy move

Frasers soars (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 18 Jul - Shares in London closed higher as markets digested the European Central Bank's decision to leave rates unchanged and as new UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted leaders from across Europe at a summit.

Investors also digested news that EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen won a second term at the helm of the European Union's executive arm.

While souring sentiment, US stocks continued to sell off.

Among individual stocks, Frasers jumped 9.19% at 897.00 pence after the retailer released upbeat results.

The London FTSE 100 closed up 0.21% at 8,204.89 points.
