To publish full Q2 results on Aug 1 (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 05 Jul - Anglo-Dutch energy company Shell said that in the second quarter it expects to book non-cash post tax impairments of 1.5-2.0 billion dollars, mainly reflecting Singapore Chemicals & Products assets, for 0.6-0.8 billion dollars, and the Rotterdam HEFA biofuels facility, for 0.6-1.0 billion, which is reported in the Marketing segment.

Earlier this week, Shell said its Shell Nederland Raffinaderij subsidiary would temporarily pause on-site construction work at its 820,000 tonnes a year biofuels facility at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam in the Netherlands to address project delivery and ensure future competitiveness given current market conditions.

In a preview of second quarter results, which will be published on August 1, Shell said that in its integrated gas business, production would total 940,000-980,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) while LNG liquefaction volumes 6.8-7.2 million tons. Trading & Optimisation results are expected to be in line with a year ago, but lower compared to the first quarter due to seasonality.

In upstream, production is seen at 1.72-1.82 million boe/d with underlying opex of 2.1-.27 billion dollars. The share of profit of joint ventures and associates in the quarter is expected to be around 0.2 billion dollars while exploration well write-offs are expected to also be around 0.2 billion.

Shell sees the Renewables and Energy Solutions division posting adjusted earnings of a negative 0.5 billion dollars to a positive 0.1 billion.
