Saudi Arabia to raise 12.35 bln usd from Aramco stake sale

1 mln usd more than expected as greenshoe option exercised (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 10 Jul - The Saudi government will raise 12.35 billion dollars through the sale of shares in energy giant Aramco after the exercise of an over-allotment option, the deal's stabilising manager.

The amount is one billion more than initially expected.

An additional 154.5 million shares were issued to meet investor demand, Merrill Lynch Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said.

That takes the total number to nearly 1.7 billion shares.

In June Aramco said the offering had raised a minimum of 11.2 billion dollars, with the final size dependent on whether Merrill Lynch used the greenshoe option to sell additional shares by July 9.
