Santander Q2 net profit 3.207 bln eur, up 20%

Raises FY guidance (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Madrid, 24 Jul - The Spanish bank Santander said that the first half it posted an attributable net profit of 6.059 billion euros, up 16% in current euros versus the same period last year. In the sole second quarter, the bottom line was up 20% to a record 3.207 billion euros.

First-half revenue increased 10% to a record of 31.050 billion euros.

Santander upgraded three of its 2024 targets. It now expects high-single digit revenue growth, up from a previous estimate of a mid-single digit growth; an efficiency of about 42%, compared with a previous estimate of below 43%; and a RoTE of over 16%, compared with a previous estimate of 16%.

It anticipates for the full year a fully-loaded CET1 above 12%.
