Revolut valued at 45 bln usd in secondary share sale

Share sale aimed at providing employees liquidity (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 16 Aug - UK fintech startup Revolut is worth 45 billion dollars, the company said in a statement on a secondary share sale with existing and new investors.

"Revolut... has signed agreements with a group of leading technology investors to provide liquidity to employees through a secondary share sale at a 45 billion dollar valuation," it said.

Revolut, which has over 45 million customers worldwide, said the secondary share sale allowed current employees to capitalise on their contribution to the company's growth, while attracting a diverse mix of both new and existing investors.

Revolut revenues grew 95% last year to 2.2 billion dollars with a record profit before tax of 545 million.
