Medtronic Q1 adj EPS 1.23 usd, up 3%

Improves FY guidance (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Dublin, 20 Aug - Irish incorporated healthcare technology company Medtronic said that in the first quarter ended July 26 diluted earnings per share grew 36% to 0.80 dollars, while adjusted diluted EPS rose 3% to 1.23 dollars.

Adjusted diluted EPS grew 8% on a constant currency basis.

Medtronic posted revenue of 7.915 billion dollars, or an adjusted 8.004 billion, up 2.8% as reported and 5.3% on an organic basis.

The company raised its full-year revenue growth and EPS guidance.

Medtronic now expects organic revenue growth of 4.5-5.0% versus a prior range of 4.0-5.0%.

The diluted adjusted EPS guidance was improved to 5.42-5.50 dollars from 5.40-5.50 dollars, it added. The guidance represents a growth in the range of 4-6%.
