MasOrange to cut 795 jobs
Represents less than 10% of staff (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Madrid, 03 Sep - The Spanish telecommunications group MasOrange said that it plans to cut 795 jobs.
It added that the job cuts will be based on voluntary departures and represent less than 10% of it staff.
The company has a headcount of some 9,500 people.
MasOrange is the result of a merger between MasMovil and Orange's Spanish business.
The Spanish telecommunications sector is being hit by restructuring.
Telefonica plans cut 3,500 jobs by 2026 and Vodafone's Spanish business, bought by the fund Zegona, plans to cut 1,200 jobs, representing a third of it payroll in Spain.
