Q2 sales 4.9 bln usd, down 3.8% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 21 Aug - The US retailer Macy's said that in the second quarter ended August 3 it posted diluted earnings per share of 0.53 dollars, against a diluted loss of 0.08 dollars a year earlier, while adjusted diluted earnings per share rose to 0.53 dollars from 0.26 dollars.

Net sales fell 3.8% to 4.937 billion dollars. Comparable sales fell 4.5% on an owned basis and were down 3.6% on an owned-plus-licensed-plus-marketplace basis.
