JetBlue improves Q2 revenue guidance on healthy demand

Now sees Q2 revenue fall of 6.5-9.5% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 03 Jun - JetBlue Airways has improved its revenue outlook for the second quarter, citing healthy overall demand trends.

In a filing with SEC the airline said it expects second-quarter revenue to be down 6.5-9.5% compared to a year ago. That compares to its previous estimate for a drop of 6.5-10.5%.

It also lowered its fuel cost forecast saying it expects to spend 2.85-2.95 dollars per gallon. That compares to its previous forecast of 2.98-3.13 dollars per gallon.

JetBlue has maintained strong operational performance quarter-to-date with a completion factor of approximately 99%, it said.

"The company continues to experience healthy overall demand trends, in-line with expectations. Better operational performance is driving solid cost execution in the second quarter, and is further supported by recent trends in jet fuel prices, which have declined over the quarter.".
