Tokyo Nikkei 225 down 0.05% at 38,683 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Tokyo, 07 Jun - Japanese shares closed little changed amid muted Asian markets after yesterday's tentative rebound.

Caution prevailed on growing bets that the Bank of Japan will tighten monetary policy next week by lowering its bond purchases, amid recent signs of a rebound in Japanese inflation and improving wages.

On the data front, Japan's leading index fell to 111.6 from 111.7 in March, according to preliminary data released by the Cabinet Office. The coincident index rose to 115.2 from 114.2 the previous month and the lagging index slipped to 105.8 from 106.6.

The Nikkei index closed down 0.05% at 38,683 points.
