Italy sells 8.5 bln eur of bonds in auction

3-yr yield falls to 3.24% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 11 Jul - Italy's treasury sold a total of 8.5 billion euros in three, five, seven, 10 and 20-year bonds in an auction.

In particular, the treasury sold 2 billion euros of the third tranche of a three-year bond coming due July 15, 2027 at a yield of 3.24%, down 0.23 percentage points from the previous auction. The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.22.

It sold 1.5 billion euros of the eleventh tranche of five year off-the-run bonds with a maturity of April 1, 2027 at a yield of 3.23%.

The treasury sold 2 billion euros in the fifth tranche of seven-year bonds coming due July 15, 2031 at a yield of 3.57%, down 0.15 percentage points from the previous auction.

It sold 1.25 billion euros in 10-year off-the-run bonds maturing April 1, 2031 at a yield of 3.51%.

Lastly, the Italian treasury sold 1.75 billion euros in the eighth tranche of 20-year bonds maturing September 1, 2043 at a yield of 4.30%.
