Indian shares close sharply higher after 5-day drop

Mumbai BSE Sensex up 1.62% at 81,332 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Mumbai , 26 Jul - Indian shares closed sharply higher, snapping a 5-day losing streak amid strong Asian markets.

In Mumbai stock market dealings IT stocks were among the biggest advancers.

The BSE Sensex index up 1.62% at 81,332 points while the NSE Nifty rose 1.76% to end at 24,836 points.
