Mumbai BSE Sensex down 0.53% at 97,924 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Mumbai , 10 Jul - Indian shares erased earlier gains and closed moderately lower amid weak Asian markets.

In Mumbai stock market dealings banks were among the biggest decliners.

Caution prevailed as Mumbai's stocks rose last week for a fifth straight week, their longest winning streak this year.

The BSE Sensex index down 0.53% at 97,924 points while the NSE Nifty fell 0.45% to end at 24,324 points.
