BSE Sensex rises 0.40% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Mumbai , 18 Jun - Indian shares closed higher, as traders returned from a public holiday Monday and the market was buoyed by gains in tech stocks after Nasdaq set a new record overnight.

The BSE Sensex index closed up up 0.40% at 77,301.14 points while the NSE Nifty rose 0.39% to 23,557.90 points.
