Sensex index up 0.72% at 79,243 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Mumbai, 27 Jun - Indian shares closed broadly higher, extending recent gains and bucking the trend amid weak Asian markets.

The BSE Sensex index up 0.72% at 79,243 points while the NSE Nifty rose 0.74% to end at 24,044 points.
