Sensex closes up 0.72% at 80,014 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Mumbai , 03 Jul - Indian shares closed broadly higher amid strong Asian markets.

Investors digested data showing that growth in India's services industry accelerated in June, buoyed by strong demand and a record rise in export orders.

The BSE Sensex index up 0.72% at 80,014 points while the NSE Nifty rose 0.71% to end at 24,294 points.
