HPE shares celebrate Q2 earnings as AI server sales jump

HPE shares up 15.3% premarket (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 05 Jun - Shares in Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) jumped in premarket trading after the server and cloud-software group reported quarterly revenue that beat expectations, driven by sales of AI-related servers.

In its fiscal year second quarter ended April 30, HPE posted revenue of 7.2 billion dollars, up 3% from the same period a year ago and up 4% in constant currency.

Analysts had expected sales to fall 2% to 6.8 billion dollars.

Server revenue was 3.9 billion dollars, up 18% from the previous year.

Adjusted earnings per share in the period fell 19% to 0.42 dollars from a year earlier. Analysts expected adjusted EPS of 0.39 dollars.

It said it estimated fiscal 2024 revenue growth of 1-3%, in constant currency.

At 1255 GMT HPE shares were up 15.3%.
