Hong Kong shares end slightly higher led by tech stocks

Hang Seng index up 0.28% at 18,476 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Hong Kong , 06 Jun - Hong Kong shares ended slightly higher as they tracked gains on Wall Street overnight, where US stocks climbed to record highs after weak US labor market data ramped up hopes that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates by September.

Caution however prevailed in the city after yesterday's moderate losses as investors continued to weigh mixed economic data coming out of China and analysts highlighted structural economic challenges.

In Hong Kong stock market dealings technology shares were among the biggest advancers, led by chipmakers after US giant Nvidia Corporation soared to a 3 trillion valuation valuation yesterday amid persistent hype over AI.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.86%.

The Hang Seng index closed up 0.28% at 18,476 points.
