Hong Kong shares close lower; tech stocks drop

Hang Seng down 0.59% at 18,366 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Hong Kong , 07 Jun - Hong Kong shares ended lower after yesterday's moderate gains amid mixed Asian markets as investors continued to weigh mixed economic data coming out of China and analysts highlighted structural economic challenges.

Traders digested mixed trade data, with China's exports rising much more than expected in May on strong industrial production and improving overseas demand, and imports growing at a slower-than-expected pace amid weak local demand and consumer spending.

In Hong Kong stock market dealings technology shares were among the biggest advancers. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Tech Index down 1.78%.

Chinese electric-vehicle manufacturer Nio sank after posting a loss for the first quarter, The Hang Seng index closed down 0.59% at 18,366 points.
