EPS in Q2 dips to 0.81 usd from 0.82 (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 19 Jul - US regional bank Fifth Third Bancorp said its net profit in the second quarter was 561 million dollars compared to 562 million in the same period a year ago.

Diluted earnings per share dipped to 0.81 dollars in the three months from 0.82 a year ago, it said.

Net interest income in the period was 1.39 billion dollars, down 5% from a year earlier, while the net interest margin fell to 2.88% from 3.10%.

Its CET1 capital ratio rose to 10.60 in the period from 9.49 the previous year.
