European shares mostly higher in early trade

London FTSE 100 up 0.47% as voters go to the polls (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milan , 04 Jul - European share prices were mostly higher in early trade, tracking gains on Wall Street, where the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ Composite once again set new interest rate highs as weak US labor data spurred expectations the Federal Reserve could shortly cut interest rates.

Investors are looking to the UK, where the Labour Party is expected to win by a large margin in elections being held today.

At 0715 GMT, London's FTSE 100 was up 0.47% at 8,209 points while in Frankfurt the DAX was up 0.25% at 18,425.45 points and in Paris the CAC 40 added 0.52% to 7,671.98 points.

Milan's FTSE MIB was up 0.47% at 34,005.00 points but in Madrid the IBEX 35 was 0.26% lower at 11,028.05 points.
