European shares higher at mid-session after Nvidia earnings

London's FTSE 100 up 0.31%, Milan's FTSE MIB rises 0.74% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milan , 29 Aug - European share prices were higher at mid-session, as investors shrugged off some initial disappointment surrounding the second quarter results of AI giant Nvidia, which were robust but didn't meet expectations of the most bullish analysts.

On the data front, the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) in the eurozone in August rose by 0.6 points compared to July to reach 96.6, while in the European Union it increased 0.4 points to 96.9, figures from the European Commission showed.

The increase in the EU ESI reflected improved confidence in industry, services and retail trade, while confidence among consumers and in construction remained broadly stable.

Consumer prices in Spain in the month of August rose by 2.2% compared to the year earlier after climbing by 2.8% the previous month, according to preliminary data from statistics institute Ine.

At 1045 GMT, London's FTSE 100 was up 0.31% at 8,369.80 points while in Frankfurt the DAX rose 0.59% to 18,898.95 points and in Paris the CAC 40 added 0.66% to 7,627.74 points. Milan's FTSE MIB climbed 0.74% to 34,132.00 points and Madrid's IBEX 35 was up 0.50% at 11,388.45 points.
